1. For Gardens, Flower Beds, (etc.)
Fertilizing Potted Plants (indoor and outdoor)
A heavy sprinkling of 1/4 inch under plants annually.
 

Creation of Flower Beds & Vegetable Gardens

Apply 1 to 2 inches of Iowa-Gro® Compost. Till into top 3" of soil. However, it would be wise to have a soil test done first.
  Planting of individual annual and perennial plants.
Dig a hole deep enough as required for the plant. Install plant and back fill all but the top 6" with regular soil. Then finish filling the hole with Iowa-Gro® All Purpose Potting Mix.

2. For Turf Care, Trees & Shrubs
  Aerating & Top-Dressing Turf
Aerating and top-dressing with 1/4 to 1/2 cu.yd of Iowa-Gro® Compost per 1000 sq.ft. annually go hand in hand and are beneficial in decreasing disease problems, decreasing soil compaction, increasing root structure, reducing the need to water your lawn, increase the general health of turf, while helping the grass be greener.
Established Lawns (FOR THE DO-IT-YOURSELFER) as a fertilizer.
Early Spring and Late Fall. Apply 1/4 to 1/2 cu.yd. Iowa-Gro® Compost per 1000 sq.ft. each time.
Trees and Shrubs
Apply 1/2 inch of Iowa-Gro® Compost under the drip line of trees or shrubs twice a year.

3. For Creating New Lawns or Renovation of Existing Lawns

  Renovation
1. Aerate or power rake.
2. Apply seed at recommended rate.
3. Apply 3/4 to 1 cu.yd. Iowa-Gro® Compost to 1000 sq.ft. or about 3 pails to 75 sq.ft. to cover the seed.
4. Apply 1 inch of water immediately.
5. Keep surface moist for 10 days. (call EnviroOne® for proper watering instructions.)
New Lawns (Seeding) (best done August 15 to September 20th)
1. Finish grade.
2. Apply 1/4 to 1/2 cu.yd of Iowa-Gro® Compost to 1000 sq.ft. (may incorporate).
3. Apply seed at recommended rate.
4. Apply 3/4 to 1 cu.yd Iowa-Gro® Compost to 1000 sq.ft. or about 3 pails to 75 sq.ft. to cover the seed.
5. Apply 1 inch of water immediately.
6. Keep surface moist for 10 days. (call EnviroOne® for proper watering instructions).
New Lawns (Sodded) (best done after September 20th)
1. Finish grade.
2. Apply 1/4 to 1/2 cu.yd of Iowa-Gro® Compost to 1000 sq.ft. (may incorporate)
3. Lay sod. (Green side up).
4. Watering instructions will very with time of season and soil type. Call EnviroOne® for detailed instructions.
